Diamond light bulbs by Swedish designer Eric Therner

After a long night we sent the first issue of DERZEIT for the summer fashion week Berlin at 7am to print. And just 2 hours later we picked it up ant now its spread all over berlin. Yea. Get your free copy at the usual fashion stores in Berlin or at the trade shows.

A big difference for me between Zürich (where i’m from) and Berlin is the everyday contact with design out in the wild. It’s usually ugly in Berlin. I rarely see nice poster, flyers, ads, brochures laying around. Often i talk with friends and we try to find out why that is. Cause its not that Berlin doesn’t have good designers, so its hard to describe the reason. But at least there’s hope. This weekend there’s several things (this and this) going on that actually care about how they present them self. Starting with the printed invitation (nice red edges) for the new restaurant CHIPPS by COOKIES and two art openings that use a very nice design.

I really like the new issue of sleek. In my opinion its the best german fashion/art magazine at the moment. Interesting articles, nice design and good quality paper, that even changes in a separate section - hard to do right now, as every cent in production counts. They are still doing their thing and never gave up. Props.

Heute Freitag ist im .HBC die Releas Party der ersten Printeversion von ilikemystyle.com (und ich mach musik ) ab 21:00. .HBC, Karl-Liebknechtstr. 9, Berlin - Mitte.
Hier eine Vorschau des Magazins. Mehr Seiten als man erwarten würde und angenehm wenig Werbung. Eine interessante Art eines Magazins, da jeglicher Inhalt durch die User von ilikemystyle.com kreiert wird.
